America and Afghanistan; Rome and Judea

 Someday I will get around to writing an article about how the Muslim extremists are much like the Jewish Zealots of yesteryear, and we are like Rome was back then--an occupying force trying to acculturate a new nation. Harry Turtledove gave this interview to NPR a long time ago and it confirms my suspicions.
