Blood and Honey
Once an old man who is named Šefik (Chef eek), told me that when the Turks first came here to the Balkans, they saw many periods of blood and honey, or great war, and great peace. Bal in Turkish means honey, and kan means blood, so Balkan means honey-blood.
Having seen some of these rumblings, we have had a lot of honey, and now we are starting to see the blood seep out.
But it does not have to be this way.
Here is a good link that explains some of the problems.
